2 Sociology Sociology-The study of society. A sociologist systematically studies social behavior in human groups looking for patterns. They use social facts to explain patterns. Examples include sporting events, crime patterns, marriage rates, and religious affiliation.

3 Social Sciences A group of related disciplines that study various aspects of society and human relations.

4 Psychology Study of mind and behavior

5 Economics Study of choices people make in an effort to satisfy their needs and wants.

6 Political Science The examination of the organization and operation of governments.

7 History The study of past events.

8 Branches of Social Sciences the major branches are Archaeology, Economics, Geography, History, Law, Political science, Sociology, International relations, Communication, and Psychology.

9 Sociological Imagination A way of looking at the world that sees the connections among the seemingly private concerns of individuals and important social issues.
