2 Islamic Invasions After the death of Muhammad Islam spreads out of Arabia during the 7th century (600 A.D.) Moors- Arab Islamic group from N. Africa Successfully conquers Spain

3 Battle of the Tours (732) Fought between the Moors (Muslims) and Franks (Christians) Franks win, led by Charles Murtel Moors remain in Spain, but it stops Islamic expansion.

greatest king of the dark ages Renames it the Carolingian Empire Helps create feudalism converts more people to Christianity Builds schools, and educates himself 800 A.D. named emperor of Holy Roman Empire
