3. California Partnership Grant Senate Bill 44
Academies are a three-year program, in grades 10-12, structured as a school-within-a-school incorporating:
• a voluntary student selection process
• curriculum focused on a career theme
• a small team of teachers who work together to plan and implement the program
• a variety of motivational activities including parental support, reward structures, guest speakers, field trips, mentors, work experience and regular monitoring

4. What we are required to do:
Provide three college preparatory academic classes and one career class
Classes are restricted to Academy students
Voluntary teacher participation with a common prep period
Must have an Advisory Board of business and community members
Must provide a mentorship program in 11th grade year
Must provide summer internship after 11th grade year

5. What we are required to do:
Funding is performance based
Only those students meeting the 90% attendance and 90% credit requirements are qualified for funding
District and business partners must match 100%
