Hot Topics
Math – In math this week we will continue practicing counting forward and backward, from 1 to 30. We will be subtracting one quantity from another. We will also solve and record solutions for subtraction story problems.
Fundations – We have reviewed all 26 letters in the alphabet and have also worked hard to learn how to properly write these letters . As we begin Unit 2 we will focus on learning to tap and say sounds and then blend them together to make words.

 Math Home Folder – This was sent home with your child this week. Students should keep the cards they cut out in this folder. Please
Put the folder in a safe place at home. Materials will be used for
other games this school year.
Exercise Club – Thursdays and Fridays at 8:50am
Writing - Students will hear a story called: All by Myself. We will discuss all the different things that Little Critter could do all by himself. Students will write an “I can..” sentence and learn to add more details to their writing as the week goes on. They will illustrate their writing. Students will conference with me and have their writing edited. They will share with
the class.
