it to Curriculum Overview, I sent a folder home containing the material that was handed out that evening. Please let me know if you did not receive it and I will send it home with your child this week.
Hot Topics
Math – This week we will continue on work with math manipulatives and also focus on the counting sequence to 20 and describing, defining and comparing attributes of 2-D shapes. We will also make patterns using various manipulatives.
Fundations– We will review letter formation, handwriting position, and introduce skywriting. We will begin Unit 1 on Wednesday which will focus on the keywords that go along with each consonant in the a alphabet.

NO SCHOOL
NEWS: We had a great week in first grade !! I have enjoyed getting to know your child. We are continuing to practice daily procedures, review school rules and doing our best work. Please send in a healthy snack and a spill-proof water bottle every day with your child. It is a long morning before lunch and it can get warm in our room.
Writing We will take this week to focus on what sentence structure is and practice writing using proper sentence structure. We will also focus on the importance of developing a writing community in our classroom and how to project our voices while sharing writing out loud.
