Interior or Exterior Conflicts First, turn in any “Notes: Types of Conflict” sheets you took home for homework. They are due today! Next, complete the “Interior or Exterior Conflicts” handout. Use the definitions in your I.A.N. to help you. If you finish early, read your book independently!

SpringBoard Unit 1- Activity 1.1 (Continued) Read the instructions for “Unpacking the Embedded Assessment 1” on page 4 of your SpringBoard book. Then, turn to page 48 to view the embedded assessment #1, “Writing a Personal Narrative”. Let’s review what’s expected BEFORE we complete the task later. Now, flip back to page 4 and paraphrase (write in your own words) what they expect you to do when you get to the embedded assessment. You may write this response in your book on page 4. SpringBoard Unit 1- Activity 1.1 (Continued) Turn to page 49 and look at the rubric. The highest score you can receive comes from completing tasks in the exemplary category. Look at ideas in the exemplary category. What do you have to do to earn a perfect score in ideas? Next, you will work in groups to paraphrase (write in your own words) your assigned bullet point from the rubric on page 49. Once you have paraphrased what they want you to do, you will place your answer on a sentence strip to go on the poster for Unit 1.

Independent Reading As you read, see if you can identify different examples of sensory language in your book. We will have book chats this week! You must have read at least part of your book to be able to participate! Homework: Complete the “Interior or Exterior Conflicts” handout. It’s due tomorrow! Return your signed progress report. Check your Synergy account! Read your independent book. Read articles on ReadTheory.org or Zync Learning Labs. Check the blog!
