Do not wait. Turn in any signed paperwork to the homeroom bin. If you are not eating, you must read something of your choice. HOMEROOM = SILENCE

Annotating Text Glue the pink annotations (text symbols) sheet to page 57 of your I.A.N. Then, add “Annotation Key” to your Reading Strategies T.O.C. for page 57. To annotate text means to mark the text. We will watch the video in a moment. Be sure your desk is clean and you have space to work!

Essential Question: How can annotating texts help me improve my reading skills? Standard: ELACC6RL3 – Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.

Annotating Text Use your annotations key to mark the text as we read. Yes, you should write on the handout, “How Did People Solve a Problem?”. Yes, you should draw a picture based on the text. Yes, you must answer the questions at the bottom of the page. Answer these questions ON THE BACK OF YOUR SHEET, and be sure to USE COMPLETE SENTENCES.  If you do not finish this in class, it is homework and it is due no later than tomorrow.

5 Language Arts – Closing Session 08/15/18
Independent Reading Select a book to read from our classroom library or one you have already checked out from the library. A great time to go to the library is during Homeroom. If you’d like to check out a book from our classroom library, simply sign it out using the log. Be sure to sign it back in when you return it! We will visit the library as a class this Friday. Be sure to bring your books if you need to make an exchange!
