Upcoming, Important Dates: Add these dates to your agenda, if they apply to you: Tuesday (08/22) – Technology Club Meeting 8:00 a.m. – Robotics Club Meeting 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (08/23) – Track Club – Parent Mtg. 6:00 p.m. Thursday (08/24) – Open House/Curriculum Night 6:00 p.m. - SRI # 1 – Business Lab Friday (08/25) – Floyd spirit wear & jeans day - SRI # 1 (Continued) Go get your breakfast NOW. Do not wait. Turn in any signed paperwork to the 7th period bin. If you are not eating, you must read something of your choice. HOMEROOM = SILENCE

SpringBoard First, you MUST use complete sentences to finish the following: p Two E.Q.s and Embedded Assessment p Questions 1-8 p Questions 1-6 (Hint: #4 = your ½ sheet in your Reading Portfolio) – All of the questions on this page are based on the book you’ve been reading from the L.M.C. or our classroom. If you finish early, THEN you may read independently.

Standard: ELASE6RL2 – Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments. Learning Targets: Define the concept of change through the reading of a narrative. Apply understanding of narrative elements to reading and writing.

Mini. Book Talk For those of you who have finished answering questions 1-6 on page 14, take turns at your table discussing your responses with your tablemates. Each person must speak about their book. Allow 3-5 minutes per person. If you finish early, you may read independently. Be sure to add to your ½ sheet in your Reading Portfolio each day you read!

6 Language Arts – Closing Session 08/22/17
Independent Reading First, you must finish any missing S.B. pages. As you read, you should add to your “Notes for Independent Reading” chart within your Reading Portfolio. Also while you read, I will call individuals up to my desk to show me the following completed pages within SpringBoard; Page 4 (The two E.Q.s and Unpacking the Embedded Assessment #1) Pages (Questions 1-8) Page 14 (Questions 1-6)
