The R.A.C.E.S. Strategy
Did you turn in your:
“How did people solve a problem?” sheet from yesterday?
Next, glue the orange R.A.C.E.S. strategy sheet to page 99. It does not matter which direction you glue it, but no part of it should hang out of your I.A.N. Therefore, you may trim it down to make it fit.
Then, add “R.A.C.E.S. Strategy” to your Writing Strategies T.O.C. for page 99.

Standard: ELACC6RL3 – Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.

Write about a time when you learned from a mistake.
Write about a time when you made a new friend.
Write about a time when you had a best day ever.
How did the Aztecs solve their food shortage? (Think about the reading from yesterday.) Yes, you can still respond to the prompt, even if it’s not a question.
Yes, write your chosen prompt on page 100 and respond using complete sentences and the R.A.C.E.S. strategy. You must have at least 5 or more sentences.
Yes, you should add the following Writing Strategies T.O.C. entries:

Independent Reading
Select a book to read from our classroom library or one you have already checked out from the library.
A great time to go to the library is during Homeroom.
If you’d like to check out a book from our classroom library, simply sign it out using the log. Be sure to sign it back in when you return it!
We will visit the library as a class TOMORROW. Be sure to bring your books if you need to make an exchange!
