Formative Performance Task 1 SUBSTITUTION Topic Question: How was trade on the Silk Road responsible for cultural exchange? Description of Formative Performance Task: You will analyze the video clip from Discovery Education to determine how trade on the Silk Road was responsible for cultural exchange. Featured Source: Discovery Education –Ancient Trade on the Silk Road Featured Tech Tools: Blackboard iPad and/or Laptop or desktop computers with Internet access Steps: One person in the group will log onto my BB page. a. Click on Ancient Trade on the Silk Road Video clip. View the video and take notes as you are watching it. Be ready to discuss your notes in a whole group discussion. Click on Silk Road Quizlet 2. Click on Learn to go over the information with your group. 3. As a group, you will answer the questions, but only one person will need to type the answers. 4. Each person in the group can jot down their answer on a sheet of paper to share out with the whole group. Description of Summative Performance Task: You will use the map and prior knowledge to answer and share your responses to the above topic question. You will be working with an assigned group. Steps: One person in your group is responsible for working the iPad or computer. Go to go to the following link: Begin by reading the prompt in the Task Column. This is the question that will guide you in your responses. Use the map as a resource to assist in your responses. Post your group responses to the question under your class column by clicking the (+) sign. As a group, discuss responses from other groups in your class hour and other hours. Description of Summative Performance Task: You will work with your group and use an iPad to create a short video that will answer the task question. Steps: Your group will create a Clips video. Get your assigned number iPad from the charging station. Click on the Clips app. Follow the rubric provided to create a video that answers the prompt question. Save the video to you iPad using your group name and class hour. View and write comments on videos posed by other groups. Your comments will be posted to posters in classroom. You will participate in a gallery walk to see the feedback given to all of the videos.
