Literacy
Our book for the week is “Dinosaurs and Good Night” and the sight word is “came”. Please have your child practice reading and writing their sight words at home. We will continue to water and take care of our seeds and document their growth in our planting journal. We will also spend the week learning about dinosaurs! We have puzzles, figures and lot of books that students will enjoy to support their learning.
In Reading Workshop, we will continue in our Poetry Unit. We will continue to work on hearing the difference between long and short sounds.
In Writing Workshop, students will continue to work in the Personal Narrative Unit this week. Students will write about their “lovey” or special that they love. Students will also write about themselves and things they like.

Math
This week we will spend time assessing what the students have learned for the 3rd Trimester. Some will be whole group and small group, but most will be an individual performance assessment. Students will work in centers playing games to practice and strengthen skills that they have learned this trimester. These skills include: composing and decomposing teen numbers, subtraction, patterns, and 2D and 3D shapes. Composing and decomposing teen numbers means that they know 15 is 10 and 5, as well as 10+3 is 13.
