1 SAMUEL REPROVES ISREAL

2 Introduction The children of Israel rejected Gods love for them by asking for a king over them. Samuel called the children of Israel and reproved them for this action so that they can repent. To reprove also means “to correct”, or “to rebuke”

3 Introduction Samuel was able to correct the Israelites because he was holy, faithful, prayerful and had a good report of the people. Boys and girls must be like God and follow Samuels example to correct their friends.

4 1. Recall of Gods faithful act 1 Samuel 12:6-12;Deuteronomy 8:1-10
Prophet Samuel reminded the children of Israel of Gods faithfulness. God brought them out of Egypt, fought their enemies and gave them a land flowing with milk and honey. The children of Israel sinned against God and disobeyed his commandments.

5 1. Recall of Gods faithful act
Do not copy the example of Israelite's. Friends of Jesus must avoid the bad habit of falling and rising in sin. After giving your life to Jesus do not go back to sin anymore.

6 2. Reprove for disobedience 1Samuel 12:13-19; Proverbs 3:11,12
Samuel told the children of Israel that disobedience brings the punishment of God. It is important that we obey God so that they can get the blessings from him. Parents should correct their children whenever they do wrong so they will not bring shame to them.

7 2. Reprove for disobedience
Children should respond positively to the correction of their parents, teachers and pastors We should not harden our heart but humbly accept the correction because they have been appointed by God to train and bring us up in a Godly way. Correction moulds our life, delivers from sin, makes us do right and be happy.

8 3. Repent and be saved 1 Samuel 12:20-25
Samuel made the Israelites to understand their wrong doing and asked him to pray so they can be saved. God expects genuine repentance from children who receive corrections through his word.

9 3. Repent and be saved To accept correction and repentance from sin you must Realize that you are a sinner Repent from and confess your sins to God Ask for forgiveness and cleansing through Christ's blood Invite Jesus into your life as lord and saviour Thank God for answering your prayer Read your bible and pray daily, fellowship with other children of God
