6. Interested in Band in 6th grade?
If your student has any interest in Band, 6th grade is the time to start!
The Band Instrument fair has already taken place, but it’s not too late! The Band teachers are available in the cafeteria if you missed the Instrument Fair and would like more information.

7. Electives Special Note…
We CAN NOT guarantee ANY elective choices.
Electives are decided based on availability. It is a possibility that your student will NOT receive his/her first choice.
Exception: If a student chooses Band, he/she will be given that elective because it requires a time commitment outside of school, and a financial commitment as well.

8. In-Class Registration
Counselors will visit with Current 5th graders the week of February 27th.
At this time, the counselors will walk students through the registration process and have them fill out a DRAFT form.

9. Registration Forms
Completed Registration forms (Pink) are due March 9th to your student’s 1st period teacher. These forms require a parent signature.
If these Registration forms are not returned, we’ll use the Draft form completed in class to make your student’s schedule.

10. Friendly Reminder… -When completing the DRAFT registration form
Once student schedules are received in August, there will be no changes.
We know students change their mind, and we want to give them that opportunity. They’ll have the following chances to make those changes:
-When completing the DRAFT registration form
-When completing the FINAL registration form
-After VERIFICATION letters are sent out

11. No schedule changes will be made once you receive this schedule.
Verification letters will go home this spring: A verification letter CONFIRMS what your student said he/she wanted to take but IS NOT their schedule.
Changes can be made in writing and turned in to the Counseling Office until April 28, 2017.
Students will get their 6th grade schedule when they return to school in AUGUST 2017.
No schedule changes will be made once you receive this schedule.

12. Nurse Information
All students entering 6th grade will be required to have 2 Hepatitis A vaccines.
If in doubt please contact Theresa Meiwes, our school nurse.

13. What’s next?
Please take time to stop by the electives tables in the GYM to learn more about what each class has to offer.
Our 6th Grade lead teacher and our vertical leads will be in the Gym to answer any questions about core classes.
Specialists teachers (Dyslexia, GT, Special Education) will be available in the front hallway if you have any questions.
