2. What are Scholarships? Free Money! Also called “Grants” or “Awards”
School, local, state, & national scholarships
Need based &/or merit based aid
Offered for a variety of talents &/or life circumstances

3. Where do I find Scholarships?
Naviance

4. How do I apply?
On Naviance select “scholarship list” on the Home page or under the “colleges” tab.
From scholarship search engines provided at end of slide show and on guidance web page
Private Institutions or places of employment

5. How do I request a Transcript?
Go to the Colleges tab in Naviance.
On the left column, under resources, click on transcripts.
Under transcripts, click on the 2nd line: Request transcripts for scholarships or athletics.
On the form, the following are required:
Reason: from the drop down box, click
Scholarship
Due date: fill in the scholarship deadline.
Recipient: fill in the NAME OF THE SCHOLARSHIP (not your name or CHS Main
Office …)
At bottom of page: click Add Transcript Requests

6. Transcripts
Transcripts must be requested in Naviance at least 10 days before the scholarship application due date
You are responsible for picking up your transcript(s) and mailing or delivering it to the organization(s) you have applied to
ALL Transcripts can be picked up in the Career Center at Ms. Acheson’s desk.

8. CHS Alumni Scholarships
80 available Scholarships included in one application packet
Individual eligibility criteria and application requirements
Due Date: JANUARY 22, 2016
Transcripts must be requested through Naviance no later than January 12th. Put in “CHS Alumni Association” as recipient.

9. Town of Chelmsford Scholarships
Need Based
1 Application to be eligible for 60 private funds
In previous years >50 applicants received scholarships
Return completed applications to Ms. Acheson in the Career Center
Due Date: MARCH 18, 2016
Transcript Request no later than March 8th in Naviance
Must also file CSS Profile Form through College Board by February 12th. Use code 3905

Interview Process:
All applicants are interviewed by the Selection Committee
You have one chance to make a positive impression:

Be prepared with necessary paperwork
