2. About Rush Rush is a not-for-profit health care, education and research enterprise established in Chicago, Illinois in 1837, and comprising Rush University Medical Center, Rush University, Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush Health.

About Rush: LEED Certification Rush University Medical Center’s innovative new hospital building, the Tower, and the Orthopedic Building have earned Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. The Tower is the largest new construction healthcare project in the world to be LEED Gold certified, and it is the only full-service green hospital in Chicago. Rush earned high marks for green design, construction and operation. In addition, Rush achieved LEED Gold certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies.

About Rush: Awards U.S.News & World Report Eleven Specialties Ranked Among the Best In U.S. News & World Report's 2012 issue showcasing “America’s Best Hospitals.” Rush ranked among the top 50 hospitals in 11 of 16 categories. Just 148 out of approximately 5,000 hospitals in the United States, about 3 percent, scored high enough this year to rank in even a single specialty.
