The Skeletal System

Jobs of the Skeletal System: Provides shape and support for the body Protects your internal organs Produces blood cells Stores minerals Provides attachment site for muscles

Your Skeletal System

Bones are the organs that make up the skeletal system. Types of bone tissue: Compact Bone - the hard outer layer Spongy Bone - the lightweight yet strong inner layer Marrow - in the middle, it makes blood cells

Joints

Joints are where two or more bones meet. Types of joints: Moveable (arms & legs) Slightly Moveable (ribs) Immoveable (skull)

Ligaments attach bones to other bones
