The Rain Forest are forests that experience a high level of rainfall. By:Valentina Montoya Emma Luna Jade Ramos and Brianna Fundora

The map above shows the location of the world's tropical rainforests. Rainforests cover only a small part of the earth's surface - about 6%, yet they are home to over half the species of plants and animals in the world.

Rainforest Climate. In an average year in a tropical rain forest, the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall, which amounts to about 250 cm per year. The rain forest has lots of rain because it is very hot and wet. This climate is found near the equator.

The climate of a tropical rainforest is very hot and wet. The average temperatures of a tropical rainforest are about 80 degrees F all year round with an exception of cool nights. The temperature of the rainforest has never dropped below 64 degrees F. It rains about inches each year. In a downpour, only one- third of the rain that falls hits the forest floor.

These are some of the animals that live in the Rainforest Red Panda Sloth Boa Constrictor Macaw Spider Monkey Toucan Tree snail Morpho Butterfly Poison Arrow Frog Rhinoceros Bettle

 Sloths are clumsy on land but great swimmers.  Sloths are arboreal animals, so they spend most of their time in trees.  Contrary to their sleep reputation, sloths only sleep 10 hours a day.

 Bromeliads  Buttress Roots  Carniverous Plants  Orchids  Epiphytes  Lianas  Rafflesia
