9 Climate In an average year in a tropical rain forest gets about 250 cm of rain per year. The climate is very humid because of all the rainfall. The temperature rarely rises past 93 degrees fahrenheight and almost never drops below 64 degrees. The reason it is so hot all the time is because most rainforests are so close to the equator.

10 Importance Tropical rainforests took between 60 and 100 million years to become what it is now. Some people believe rainforests are the oldest and most complex land ecosystem on earth, containing over 30 million species of plants and animals. Because most tropical rainforest grows in warm and steamy environments, it contains a huge variety of plants and animals. These things depend on the rainforest for their survival. There are many more thousands of rainforest plants and animals species still waiting to be discovered.
