1 The Amazing Rainforest By Chase Patrick and Jenny Beauchamp

2 What is a rain forest? A rainforest is an area where it is mostly hot, humid, and rainy. They are located around the equator. Half of the animals on the earth live in rainforests.

3 Location of Rain Forests The rainforest is mostly located around the equator. The largest rainforest is in Brazil. The other rainforests are located in Africa, Asia, Central America Hawaii, and Australia.

4 Emergent layer The emergent layer has many animals like harpy eagles, parrots, sloth, butterflies, and pygmy glider. The tallest tree in the rain forest are in this layer.

5 Canopy Layer The canopy layer has lots of animals like sloth, iguanas, toucans, macaws, porcupines, and many others.

6 The understory layer is the third layer in the rainforest. The animals that live there are jaguars, red-eyed tree frogs, macaws, ocelots, porcupines, and boa constrictors. Bromeliad and rosy periwinkle are understory plants. Understory layer

7 Forest Floor The forest floor is the last floor. The insects, animals, and plants that live there are anacondas, tarantulas, earth worm, jaguars, tapirs, capybaras, dragonflies, rafflesia, armadillo, and anteaters.

8 Deforestation Deforestation is a problem that people create in the rainforest. Here are some problems. Logging is what they do to make wood flooring. Mining is when they cut down trees to dig for gold, sliver, oil, minerals, and diamonds.

9 People of the Rain Forest The people in the rainforest live in small huts without electricity. They use some plants in the rainforest to cure them. They use bow and arrows to catch their food. They gather fruits, nuts, and berries.

12 Conclusion Save the rainforest and the animals that live there and don’t cut down the trees.
