 Work, Health and Safety Act 2001 requires employers to demonstrate proactive and preventative measures undertaken in the work place to address hazards.  Work Health & Safety is of paramount importance to both employees and employers. This means that services need to plan in advance to reduce the risk of injury/accidents from occurring in the workplace. 2(C) Copyright Romi Sharma 2012

 Find out the WH&S requirements that apply to the service  Develop a policy for the service  Who is responsible or be nominated and trained  This would provide the service clear guidelines to put the process in place to be implemented. (C) Copyright Romi Sharma

 Thinking about what activities happen in the work place  Identify the tasks and the procedures that will control the risks with reference to the activities  This assists the service to plan safely into each activity. (C) Copyright Romi Sharma

 Review the policies and make sure that the policies are being implemented correctly  On-going consultation with the employees for their individual/group contributions for further decision making  Display health and safety information in the workplace (C) Copyright Romi Sharma
