Step 1: access the database Go to a.If you using an on-campus computer, go to the next step b.If you are using an off-campus computer fill in the Username and Password boxes in the screen above. See the with the subject "using spin" of 4/28/08 for these.

Step 2: SPIN landing page At this page, click on the “Advanced Search” link in the bottom left hand corner.

Step 4: Keywords landing page Check the Humanities box and click the “Select” button

Step 5: Run search Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the “run search” button Run search 

Step 6: Search total list of Humanities listings Run search produces a large list of anything tagged as a humanities listing. To refine this search, scroll to the bottom of the page and put in a relevant keyword in the box on the left. Next, choose the button “Search Within Existing Results” on the right. Finally, click on the button “Search Spin” Keyword   Choose button Search button 

Step 7: Search results Choose the listings from the search results that interest you. You can mark listings on successive pages.

Step 7: Create List from Marked Records To create a list of just the funding opportunities that interest you, find the report box at the bottom of the results list from your search, and click the buttons as shown: Whole Search, Full Program, Display to Browser/Print. Then click on the “Build” button.

Step 8: Generated List Review on screen or print out. When you’re done, you can scroll to the bottom of your list, click on the “back to results” link, then at the results page click on the “Advanced Search” link at top, and finally on that advanced search page click on the “Run” button. Then begin Step 5 with new keywords.
