Here we are on the Ohio Web Library’s home page. To get to Business Source Premier, use the following steps: 1. Go to Ohio Web Library 2. Click on the Articles from magazines and journals 3. Click on Business Source Premier

3. Welcome to EBSCO’s tutorial about searching and browsing the Business Searching Interface. This specialized business interface includes an array of features to provide users with a high level of control over the development of their search strategies. It also features easy access to search options such as Company Information and Industry Profiles, all from the Basic Search Screen.
Note: if you have a live internet connect, feel free to use that instead..

4. Here are the specific database( being searched with the interface are represented . Click on the Basic Search link at any time to return to this screen.

5. We will start our search by entering a keyword such as a business name or industry before clicking Search. Today, we’ll search for Intel, a company that makes computer hardware. We type “intel” in to the search box, and then hit the “Search” button.

Here are our search results. Since this is a keyword search, we have some results that are not about the Intel company. Let’s make sure we get the most relevant results by limiting to the Intel Company. Start by clicking on the word “Company” on the left hand side.

7. Let’s limit our search to just “intel corp” by checking the box next to the name. The site will automatically update.

8. Much better! Now let’s limit to the full text articles, eliminating the abstracts.

9. Here are From the Result List you can save articles to a folder by clicking on the folder icon to the right of the title. To store the article in a personalized folder, click the Sign In link in the top toolbar to create or access your personal My EBSCOhost account. For additional Help using My EBSCOhost folders, click on Help in the upper-right corner.

10. In addition to searching, the Basic Search screen also features Browse links to view alphabetical lists of Company or Industry Profiles, and Country or Market Research Reports. Next we will explore the Company Profiles.

11. Enter a company name in the Browse for field and click Browse
Enter a company name in the Browse for field and click Browse. A result list of available Company Profiles is displayed. Click on the MarketLine Report link to view the Company Profile for a company in the result list.

12. The Company Profile is displayed in the PDF Full Text Viewer
The Company Profile is displayed in the PDF Full Text Viewer. From the table of contents icon on the left, you can select a specific page of the report to read. You can also print, , or add the Company Profile using the tools in the right column. The Company Profile can be downloaded by clicking the Download icon in the Adobe Reader toolbar.

13. You can also use the Business Searching Interface to search for certain types of documents, such as SWOT Analyses. A SWOT Analyses is a document that outlines the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. In this example we will use the Business Source Corporate edition to search for a SWOT Analysis for Sony Corp.,. From the first screen, click on Industry Profiles.

14. Here are all the various types of publications available in Business Source Premier. Click on SWOT Analyses .

15. Click on the PDF Full Text in the result list to read the SWOT Analysis. You can also find a SWOT Analysis by browsing alphabetically or using the search bar above. .
