1 Accessing Electronic Books Using the University’s Online Library Catalog A TUTORIAL

2 Select “Catalog Search” from Library’s Home Page at http://library.lru.edu/

3 CLICK ON “SEARCH CATALOG” BUTTON

4 Enter your Search Term in the search Box choosing your search category, ex:e.g., “Keyword”, “Title” or “Author.”

5 Your Search Results will include all LRU Materials including Books, Videos, Audios and Electronic Books. Electronic Books are noted as NetLibrary E-books.

6 From the Results List click on any Title to see the full record of an Electronic Book.

7 In the record of the item you will find the link to the NetLibrary labeled “Web-pages or sites.” Click on the Link, it will take you from the Library catalog to the book within the NetLibrary database.

8 Now you are connected to NetLibrary. The books are displayed and the details of the E-book will appear on the main screen of your browser within NetLibrary. Your session automatically ends after 20 minutes of inactivity.

9 Create an account Click on the Create a Free Account link at the upper right hand corner of the page and Create a NetLibrary account All Required fields* must be filled. Click the Create Account button and complete the registration as directed.

10 Benefits of setting up an Account  Direct access to NetLibrary at www.netlibrary.org with your username and password www.netlibrary.org  An account lets you access your LRU eContent collection from any Internet connected computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  There are no membership/annual fees, maintenance costs, or hidden charges associated with your account.

11 View E-book: Click on the View this eBook link to view the book. There is no checkout period for eBooks.

12 Navigation Use the Navigation at the top of the page go to previous page, next page or to a specific page. The tool palette on the left side of your browser is another way to navigate a title. You may use the table of Contents to jump from one chapter to another. Table of Content s Navigate

13 The Search this eBook feature searches the entire book for any word you might enter

14 Printing and Copying Netlibrary E-books are protected by copyright laws. You can copy individual pages or highlighted sections of pages, but not entire sections of an E-book.
