Castles Castles were a big part of the Middle Ages. All the kings and queens lived in the castle. The castle had many ways to protect the kings and queens. This is where the king sent knights to war. You would think a castle was peaceful, but its not. So many people die in the castle mostly because of wars.

Knights were a huge part of the Middle Ages. The kings sent the knights to war for land. Land was a king’s prize possession. That’s what knights fought for. They risked their lives. 

There were many different levels of people in the Middle Ages. First, came the kings. They were the big guys. The ones in charge. Then come the knights, they work for the king. They are a huge army. Then comes the religious people. They go to churches to pray. They have nuns and monks. Last comes the serfs. They have their own village. They are pretty much abused from the king by taxes. They are very poor farmers. These are the people of the middle ages.

Cathedrals were very huge churches where the monks, popes, and bishops prayed. The cathedrals were often made with such subtle detail. They were usually designed by someone named the Main builder. The builders were called craftsman.

Weaponry was a big part of the middle ages because there were so many wars. Many times people were paid tons of money just to make one sword. The blacksmiths were experts with weaponry.
