 You are now the leaders of Athens -- in spirit, maturity, & focus -- What legacy do you want to leave?  Keeping an eye on graduation – June 7th, :00am  Enjoying your time with your family & friends. Senior Focus – Making It Count

Senior Focus – Your Future In hopes of inspiring seniors to think about and be excited about their future, we are offering four Principal Scholarships, which will be awarded throughout the year.  (1.) Letter stating your post graduate goal  (2.) Copy of your resume:  Your Name  GPA  Courses of Note (i.e. Articulated Classes, Honors, AP, College Prep)  9-12 th Grade Leadership and Extracurricular Experiences with Participation Years  Hobbies/Interests/Work Experience   Applications need to be received by 3:00 p.m. October 25 th. If you have questions about the scholarship, please see Dr. Dixon or Mr. Adams..

 Date highlights are in your program. Advice: Make reminder notes for what to do when. Each month there will be something significant.  Please pay close attention to the Senior Bulletin updates that are sent out by your class advisors: Ms. Kosi & Mr. Holder.  Event questions can be directed to Ms. Kosi, Mr. Holder or Ms. Goss Senior Events

Attendance Policy - Attendance Policy - We want our seniors here!  Attendance at school is important:  5 absences in a class (ex/unex) will result in a teacher contact home.  7 absences – visit to the AP office  9 absences – attendance review meeting.  Beyond 9 – all unexcused (no credit for work missed)

 College Night: October 7 th, 6:30 pm at AHS. (Rochester is hosting one on the 22 nd at 6:30 if you cant make ours…)  Considerations when selecting a college or university: Location and size Majors and Educational Programs Costs and financial aid College

 Select 3-5 schools (include a “safe” school)  Observe all deadlines.  Complete applications online by the end of October.  Docufide (Parchment) used for transcript requests. (refer to handout)  ACTstudent.org to send test scores. Apply for Admissions

 Check eligibility requirements on NCAA website and with your counselor. (ncaa.org) NCAA Eligibility

 Financial Aid Night - January 13 th, 7pm. All Seniors who want to be considered for financial aid must complete the FAFSA form.  FAFSA form cannot be completed until January of the Senior year (due to tax information).  FAFSA information can be found at Financial Aid

 When accepted to a university, many schools will automatically notify you if you qualify for an academic scholarship.  Upon completing the FAFSA (Jan/Feb), schools that have accepted you will send you a financial aid statement (March/April).  The financial aid statement will include scholarships/grants and possible parent/student loans. College Scholarships

 We have listed many of the scholarships that our students may qualify for on our school website (i.e. Principal Scholarship, etc.)  Daily announcements list scholarships with upcoming deadlines.  There are websites to help search nationally (i.e. fastweb.com) Private Scholarships
