During the Progressive Era, people demanded a more responsive government. Reformers used magazines, books, and newspapers to bring attention to injustice, political corruption, and social problems. I d a T a r b e l l - m u c k r a k e r

People expected more from their government. People wanted to reform society, reform the political system, reform the work place, and limit corporate power.
