Maths The areas we will be studying are; Number (counting, working with 7 digit numbers, fractions and decimals, negative numbers, and percentages) Measurement (working with circles, and converting between standard units of measurement) Geometry (compare shapes based on properties, find unknown angles, calculate area and volum) Statistics (Interpret and construct pie charts and line graphs and use them to solve problems)

Homework Spellings given out on a Monday and tested on Friday Reading – 10 minutes daily Maths/English – Out on Thursday and in on Wednesday Homework diaries – Checked on Wednesday

Parental support Support with homework activities Test children on times tables Hear your child read daily Sign each time they read as well as the homework diary Help with school trips Remind your child to bring their PE kit on Wednesday and Thursday

Trips Summer term residential Day visits throughout the year to enhance topic work Year 5 and 6 play at the end of the year

Facebook/ Internet Children should be 13 to have a Facebook account. Many games have an age rating of 18. Monitor children who are using the internet. Look at their ‘history’ regularly.
