Meet with your partner, and share your homework findings.

 Today, we will look at ◦ Styles of Questions ◦ Types of Questions ◦ Have time to develop questions for your chapters

1. Ask a question, then offer A. One correct answer** B. One ridiculous answer C. One close to correct answer D. Another close to correct answer **Be sure to change the order of the answers so that your test takers don’t think the right answer is in the same place each time. Multiple Choice

Short AnswerEssay  Ask a question that will require the test taker to answer with at least an example.  Do not ask yes or no questions.  These questions should start with a prompt that makes the test taker think about many different things.  The answers to these questions require at least three examples.  Offer choices, or ask for explanation.

Examples:  What is the name of the man who called the speaker in Kite Runner?  What year does the speaker remember as changing his life?  Style? What’s Your Type?

Examples:  What was the relationship like between the speaker and the caller in Kite Runner?  What is the meaning of “unatoned” in paragraph 2?  Style?

Examples:  Why did the author choose the word “peeking” in the second sentence suggest?  What might kites represent?  Style?

Examples:  The author begins the story by describing a frigid and overcast day in 1975, and then shifts to a recent summer day? Is this an effective way to set the mood of the story?  Do you have respect for the speaker? Why or Why not?  Style

Examples:  What does unatoned mean? Does the speaker believe he can “be good again” after twenty- six years? Is this realistic?  How is the speaker dynamic? How would it affect your reading if he were not?  Style?

Working with your partner, develop for each of your chapters: 1. 3 multiple choice questions 2. 2 short answer questions 3. 1 essay question That’s a total of 10 questions. You will also need an answer key Work on your lesson, if you have not finished it!

Complete your lesson and question. Groups 1 & 2 go Thursday!
