Re-read your short story, focusing on:
Characterization. Briefly describe each main character and his or her defining attributes. (1 sentence each)
Plot. Summarize the plot in one paragraph.
Explain how the setting may or may not impact numbers one and two. (1 sentence)
Symbolism. Find at least one symbol and explain its significance. (2-3 sentences)
Theme. Write down one sentence summarizing a central idea or lesson.
Tone. (One sentence to describe the author’s attitude towards his or her characters or life in general.)
Style. How would you describe the prose here? Concise? Verbose? Does the writer vary her syntax at all? Is the writing dense and conceptual, or short and plot-driven. (1-2 Sentences)
