Education and Experience ■Graduated from NPHS in ■13 years of teaching experience and I love teaching!!!! - 5 years in LAUSD - 8th year in CVUSD at NPHS ■Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences from UCSB. ■Teaching Credential from CSUN and continuing education from National University. ■ Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from CSUN.

Typical Day ■ Collect homework while students complete a warm up review activity based on previous homework assignments. ■ Learn a new lesson. - 1 or 2 sections a day depending on difficulty of material. - Class notes - Examples ■ Start homework.

Curriculum ■Quarter 1: Chapters 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8 - 1) Linear Equations and Inequalities, 2) Linear Functions, 3) Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities, 5) Quadratic Functions and Inequalities, 6) Polynomial Functions, and 8) Rational Expressions and Equations ■Quarter 2: Chapters 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, ) Radical Equations and Inequalities, 9) Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, 10) Conic Sections and Systems of Quadratic Equations, 11) Sequence and Series, 12) Probability and Statistics, and 13) Trigonometry

Grading Policies ■Weighted Grade - See course description posted on course website. - Not a total points system. - 5% Class Notes and Classwork, 15% Homework, 20% Quizzes, and 60% Tests ■Grades posted in class. ■Grades posted in Q (used to be Zangle). ■NOTE: In order to move onto Math Analysis CP, students must earn a “B” or better in Algebra 2 CP. ■ Students who earn a “D” or an “F” in Algebra 2 CP will repeat the class.

Calculators n Scientific Calculators: Strongly Recommended. I have a class set of 20. n Graphing Calculators: Optional. I have a class set of 30.

Homework ■Mostly assigned from the textbook. ■ Posted daily on course website by 5 p.m., if not earlier. ■ Class notes are posted daily on course website also by 5 p.m., if not earlier.

Make Up Policy ■Students are allowed one day for each day of excused absence to make up work missed. ■Make up tests will be given during class. ■ Late work will be accepted until the day of the chapter test and will receive half credit.
