4 Grading Policy - Each Quarter Tests, Quizzes, Projects & Binders – 75% Homework –10% Participation – 15%

5 Grading Policy - Overall Each quarter counts for 20% of your child’s overall grade. The Integrated Algebra Regents exam will also count for 20% of your child’s overall grade.

6 State Testing Your child will take the NYS Math Assessment in May 2012. Your child will also take the Integrated Algebra Regents in June 2012.

7 MCCSD Attendance Policy for Regents classes If a student is absent 28 or more days from class, he/she will be denied credit and will have to repeat Integrated Algebra. If a student is absent 35 or more days from class, he/she will be denied the opportunity to take the class during summer school.

8 Homework Homework is assigned daily. Students should not be spending more than 25 minutes a night on math homework. Students will receive either 5 points or 0 points for homework each night. A student can make up missing/late homework assignments and receive partial credit – 2.5 points.

9 Homework Every Thursday, your child will receive a printout of any missing assignments he/she may not have completed. He/She has until Monday to make up the missing assignment(s) for partial credit.

10 Binders Regardless of the grade earned, everything gets signed. Your child’s binder helps organize all handouts, tests, quizzes, etc. by being assigned designated pages. Your child’s binder gets graded at the end of every quarter and counts as a quiz grade.

11 Preparation Math textbooks will be left at home. Each day your child is expected to come to class with the following: – Math binder – Agenda book – Something to write with – Calculator

12 If a student is late to class three times, he/she will receive detention. Lateness
