Weekly Glance: Monday: Comma Rules Tuesday: We are meeting in the gold computer lab to set up your Office 365 accounts. Wednesday: Text Structure Stations Thursday: Text Structure AND Comma Rules Quiz Friday: Team Incentive-if you have not returned your permission slips, you must do so by Wednesday or you cannot participate.

Learning Objective: Today’s learning objective is to understand how to use the comma AND to understand and recognize what an appositive is and how it is used.

Essential Questions:  How are commas used to improve our writing?  What are appositives?

Warmup: Use your Comma Monopoly Board to review comma rules.

Review from last week & today’s focus: Review from last week: Power Point from Dropbox on Appositives Individual Activity on Appositives—to be turned in. You do not have to rewrite the sentences. Just place the comma(s) where they belong.

Homework for 9/14/15: Complete the comma activity review sheet on Commas and Introductory Phrases. Also, write 2 of your OWN examples for each of the 7 comma rules on the left side of your Comma Monopoly Board that is located in your IN. Make sure that your know your FANBOYS! Study for quiz over text structure on Wednes day, 9/16/15 and comma rules quiz on Thursday, 9/17/15.

TOD: Get out your electronic devices. If you do not have access to a data plan, you will need to join someone that does as we do NOT have wifi in the room. Work Session: Each group will rotate to each of the text structure stations and complete the activity at each station. Make sure you bring your graphic organizer to class again tomorrow. We will finish the activity Thursday.
