Georgia Thespian Conference 2016 ACT WELL YOUR PART, THERE ALL THE HONOR LIES – ALEXANDER POPE

What?  If you’ve never been…  “Join us for the best three days of high school theater in Georgia. The Georgia Thespian Conference features numerous productions presented by high schools from throughout the state. Plus, you'll be able to participate in a variety of workshops led by theater professionals from around the country. And if that weren't enough, you also can perform or view individual performance and tech events, audition for scholarships, talk to college representatives from around the country, shop with commercial vendors selling theater merchandise, and hang out with 4,000 other Georgia Thespians.” – gathespians.org

Who?  Any currently inducted Thespian  Any student eligible for induction  10 points  5 of which earned at EHS  Earned in more than one category  Good academic standing

When?  Leave from EHS on the morning of Thursday February 4 th,  Spend the 4 th, 5 th, and most of the 6 th at Conference.  Return to the school the evening of Saturday February 6 th.

Where?  Scenic Columbus, GA!  Conference is hosted at Columbus State University’s theatre department facilities, The Columbus Trade and Convention Center, and the River Center for the Performing Arts. All locations are within walking distance of each other.  We will be sleeping at the Hilton Garden Inn, only a 15 minute drive from the convention center!

How?  Pay the initial $150 deposit, guaranteeing you a spot on the trip (pending academic and behavioral standing)  Turn in your conference health form  Pay the remainder of your trip fees. Final fee will be calculated based on how many students pay their initial deposit. The larger the number of attendees, the smaller the second payment.  If 12 people sign up and pay the initial deposit: Total cost per student with Total payment = $320  With less than 12 people…the total will go up…  $175 Deposit Due September 15  Remaining Balance : Determined when # of initial deposits are turned in  DUE NO LATER THAN October 1

What am I getting for my money?  Transportation From Etowah to the Conference and Back to Etowah  Transportation from the hotel to conference and back each day  2 Night Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn (with Breakfast Buffet!)  Conference provided meals: Thurs. Dinner, Fri. Lunch and Dinner, Sat. Lunch  Thespian Conference T Shirt  Access to all shows, workshops, events, audition opportunities, etc.  THE SINGLE GREATEST WEEKEND OF YOUR LIFE (SO FAR)  The only $$$ you will need to bring is for lunch on Thursday and for any souvenirs you would like to buy at the vendor stalls. There is also a concession stand at the trade center if you want to buy additional snacks and sodas.

To Receive Future Updates and Reminders   TO:  All reminders about payments, deadlines, updates to conference schedule of events, etc… will come through this.  We will have a more direct system of communication for the actual conference.

Chaperones!  The awesome Mrs. Tapp has agreed to drive 6 of you to conference.  If anyone else has an interested parent with a large vehicle, please have them contact me IMMEDIATELY. Their hotel and conference fee will be paid for!
