What is your responsibility/job? to supervise and oversee solar energy work crews compose a plan and coordinate all the installations that the workers will make visit customer websites and find potential clients design a solar energy system that fits their needs, requirements, and specifications hire the right amount of workers for the job buy the right amount of materials, and equipment

What qualifications do you need? all solar energy installation managers must first start as a solar photovoltaic installer or solar thermal installer before becoming a manager they must meet all education, training and licensing requirements for solar photovoltaic or solar thermal installers. have past experience with electrical or solar work, such as majoring in solar engineering or finding other-related jobs. must work as a solar photovoltaic or solar thermal installer for at least three years have other management experiences (can be in other fields).

What are some institutions that provide training? There are thousands of different training courses offered by different institutions that are all certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). These training courses take place everyday, as they could be bought online or attended in person. Examples of some popular training courses/institutions are:  Solar Energy International (hundreds of courses year, usually lasts 1-2 months per training course)  Kaplan Clean Tech Education (also provides many training courses, lasts hours)  Everblue Training (provides several solar energy installation courses, typically lasting hours long)

Who would this job appeal to? people with interest codes of ER, enterprising and realistic. people who like working on big projects able to supervise a large group of people have to ability to make decisions they like to deal with business and make a lot of money people who like hands-on problem solving situations have to deal with real-world situations with real-world materials they love to use their hands to work outside and “install” objects when combining these two interests, you will get someone who loves to work on hands-on projects such as solar energy installations, and someone who like to supervise others, work on big projects, and make big decisions

What skills are required for the job? Coordination – To make sure a project is completed smoothly, the manager must organize a plan that has coordination between the workers Time Management – In order to install solar energy equipment into a building, the manager has to make sure the project finishes up to date and all installations are finished on schedule throughout the whole proje Monitoring – Must be able to supervise all solar energy installers, and access the work of other individuals in the company. Management of personnel Resources – encouraging workers, directing workers, make sure all workers are informed on their job, and finding the right potential workers for the job. Active Engagement – Includes both listening and directing, giving attention to other ideas, and using those ideas in future projects. Ask questions and project new ideas to the board in a polite manner.
