AVID: Organization I

Get out your computer for a short organizational survey.

Reach into your book bag and pull out a notebook for one of your classes. Hold it up and observe. What do you notice?

Share: How do you organize your “school stuff?”

How to organize your notebook

If not required by teacher, develop a system that works for you.

One binder that holds every class; dividers for each period Idea #1: The AVID Way

Idea #2: One notebook/One folder per class

Rule: Separate and label sections of the binder appropriately such as: “Notes” “Homework” “Labs” “Quizzes” “Tests” “Questions to ask teacher”

Rule: Always put papers in the proper spots immediately.

Rule: Only keep what is needed for each class.

How to Use a Planner 1. Write down each subjects name; feel free to abbreviate and to use different colors
