Family- She had 8 brothers and sisters

Education- Her family started a school in their home Tried to get into 29 different medical schools and they all said no Finally Geneva College in NY said yes January 23, 1849, she graduated first in her class

Enjoyed doing- She liked to take walks, read, and learn

What do we remember this person for- First women doctor Started the National Health Society Taught classes about being healthy and keeping clean Wrote books Opened a free clinic for poor mothers and children Opened the 1 st school for nursing in America
