Environmental Education and Interpretation Option (EEI) Making a difference through inspiration and environmental literacy

What is Environmental Education? Environmental education is a learning process that increases people's knowledge and awareness about the environment and associated challenges, develops the necessary skills and expertise to address the challenges, and fosters attitudes, motivations, and commitments to make informed decisions and take responsible action (UNESCO, Tbilisi Declaration, 1978).

What is Interpretation? Interpretation is the translation of the language of the scientist, the voices of the past, and the significances of the places to help create meanings and connections to the people of the present.

What does Humboldt’s EEI Option offer you? *EEI lab with state-of-the-art computers, equipment and facilities *nationally recognized program *successful job placement * a hands-on education with projects including creating and delivering environmental education and interpretive programs, designing exhibits and signs for public and private organizations, and organizing and conducting outreach events.
