The Pathways to Success ePortfolio System Set-Up Instructions

Step 1: Sign Up for a Weebly ® Account  Go to and sign up for a FREE account.  Fill in your FULL NAME, , and PASSWORD, then click “SIGN UP. IT’S FREE” orange bar.  We highly recommend that you take a look at this tutorial before you get started.

Step 2: Follow Weebly ® Instructions to Complete Your Account Registration  Create a Title for your ePortfolio. We recommend that you use your full name, but you can have something like “The Museum of Me”, even. If you change you mind about what to name your site, you will have the option to change it later.  Select PORTFOLIO from the “Type of Site” options.  Then click “Continue”.

Step 3: Make it official  Select “Use a Subdomain of Weebly.com” then personalize your URL. Remember, since you will likely be publicizing this URL on your resume or business card, the best thing to do is use your full name, and make it short and sweet for easy recall. Make it consistent with the site name you just created.  Click “Continue”.

Step 4: Start personalizing!  Congrats! You’re now the proud owner of your very own personal ePortfolio site. Start personalizing and making it your own. Infuse it with your unique tastes and quarks. Make it yours and make it great!

Step 5: Play around, Drag & Drop  This tools bar will be your best friend here on in. Get familiar with what Weebly editor has to offer you in your creative quest to present yourself through your ePortfolio.  The DESIGN tab is the first place to go to establish the “look and feel” of your site.  In regards to actual content, the ELEMENTS and PAGES tabs are where you should look.

Step 6: Create Your Tabs  This is the only aspect of the site that we’d like executive control over. From our research and experience, these are the items that will make your ePortfolio a huge hit.  Click on “Add Page”, and type in the PAGE NAME provided on the following slide.  To add a sub-page, all you have to do is drag the gray page bar to the right beneath the name page bar.  Go to the Pathways Sample Website for more detailed guidelines on what to include in each page and subpage of your ePorfolio.Pathways Sample Website

Step 10: HAVE FUN!  Enjoy this process. Don’t think of developing the content of your ePortfolio as another homework assignment. Really take stock in why you are doing it and how it’ll be of used to document your continued success. You won’t regret any of it.  Just in case you need more convincing, here are just some of the benefits to having a well developed ePorfolio.  A web portal where students can access their work, track their academic growth and plan their career  A place to collect and save coursework  A chance to showcase accomplishments and best school work to others  A tool for creating dynamic digital resumes to send to employers, professors, and other influential people for professional development purposes  An opportunity to use creativity to represent self, education, and potential  A portal that helps students connect educational goals with personal experiences  A chance for students to reflect on their education, to make connections between where they are and where they want to be;  A comprehensive record of their skills, achievements and learning
