As we currently reached 7 billion humans living on Earth, how we deal with population in the future may determine the fate of our species.  a) Describe the significance of the population graph above. How has population growth changed over the last 10,000 years?  b) Describe several reasons why it took until 1880 to reach 1 billion people on Earth.  c) Explain how this chart represents exponential growth and what that means for population growth. Why did the population begin to rise so quickly in the last 200 years?  d) If a population is growing at 5% a year, how long will it take to go from 200 million to 400 million?
