Construction started in 2005 and it was opened in Themed ‘Gardens by the Bay’. It’s design consists of three joining gardens over 101ha. Bay East – 32ha, Bay Central – 15ha with a 3km waterfront promenade and Bay South 54ha. The gardens feature Supertrees Grove, which are tree-like structures that dominate the Gardens' landscape with heights that range between 25 metres and 50 metres. They are vertical gardens that perform a multitude of functions, which include planting, shading and working as environmental engines for the gardens. The ‘trees’ are either 50m or 25m tall and light up at night. Entry is free and the Bayfront MRT station is nearby.

The Gardens Use. Recreation for locals and a main tourist attraction, built on reclaimed land adjacent to the port of Singapore, on Marina Bay. Close by is the Marina Bay Sands hotel.

The Main Materials Used in the Gardens Construction Sand, from the reclaimed land from the sea. Soil for the gardens and grounds. Concrete for the pylons, buildings and pathways. Steel for the feature trees. Lots of shrubs, trees (actual) and plants.

Construction started in The resort and SkyPark were officially opened on 23 and 24 June The resort is a three tower, 2,561-room hotel, with a 120,000 m 2 convention-exhibition centre, the t4,000 m 2 - The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, a museum, two large theatres, seven restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, a skating rink, and the world's largest atrium casino.

The design The resort is designed by Moshe Safdie, who says it was initially inspired by card decks. In addition to the casino, other key components of the plan are three hotel towers with 2,500 rooms and suites, a 19,000 m 2 Art Science Museum, a convention centre with 110,000 m 2 of space, capable of accommodating up to 45,000 people. The resort's architecture and major design changes along the way were also approved by its feng shui consultants, the late Chong Swan Lek and Louisa Ong-Lee. There are three 55 floor towers and is topped with a one hectare roof terrace - Sands SkyPark, which is shaped like s ship’s keel. The infinity pool has views over Singapore city and the rooms either overlook Singapore City or the Bayfront Gardens.
