Some Companies who succeeded: SME IOW Sector – tidal turbine platform Need – establish an innovative tidal platform tethered to the sea bed by a patented series of ropes that enable quick maintenance and can be raised or lowered to hit the sweet spot in the tidal flow. Some Companies who succeeded: Redlux Sector – Ultra precision engineering – non contact measurement Need – Improve quality control in components for wind turbines – mainly bearings which can be expensive to replace.
