4. Swansea Bay City Region – Skills Intervention
To lead on the Skills & Talent Intervention for the Swansea Bay City Deal
To increase engagement with the private sector and support businesses
To address the Skills gaps identified by the 10 Projects
To increase engagement with schools including the development of the Welsh Bac
Identify apprenticeship opportunities through procurement
Working with work programmes to identify opportunities to get people into work by offering training.

5. Growing Mid Wales Growth Deal
Consultation on the Economic Plan to inform the Growth Deal for Mid Wales.
A Mid Wales Vision for the future:
a. To grow the Economy of the region with high value jobs
b. To be a confident, Connected and Innovative region.
c. To have a young skilled workforce.
d. To be a test bed for new technologies.
e. To support businesses to grow

Addressing priority skills gaps and shortages
Developing higher level skills
Increasing number and range of apprenticeships
Improving industry engagement with education, marketing of career opportunities and pathways

Developing a regional employability plan

7. Cardiff Capital Region City Deal
A £1.229bn fund to grow GVA by investing in economic fabric of the region
£734m of £1.229bn to be invested in Metro
£495m wider investment fund for other ambitions such as skills, innovation, housing and regeneration
Target to bring in £4bn of private sector funding
Long term programme
First five year business plan launched
