Presentation transcript:

Accelerated Reader You must read books within your reading range based on STAR testing Refer to goal setting chart for your goal (don’t lose it!) Mid-Term Grade 20% of your grade 4 points of your overall AR point goal must be non-fiction!

More on AR… You must get a 60% or better to get any points- passing is a 60%! I do give extra credit for going over your goal! 10 points for going over by 5 or more. I do not apply points to the next quarter. You may take an AR test in language arts class only ! You may only go to the library once you’ve past an AR test! If you want to switch your book, you must do it on your own time!!!

DO… Read every night for at least 20 minutes! Ask for suggestions/recommendations if you are having trouble finding a good book. Find a buddy to read the same book with, so you can talk about it! Talk to Mr. Hales about new books/tests!

DO NOT… DO NOT take a test on a book you have not finished reading! DO NOT read a book from last year- I WILL NOT reset the system for you to take the test again! DO NOT take a test in any other classroom or the library- you may only take a test in language arts. DO NOT take a test on a book you did not read, even if you’ve seen the movie!
