Research Paper Objective: The students will research a topic and write an expository essay to explain the research. Note cards and source cards Expository essay Narrative essay with your opinion, that of your expert, and the essential question Bibliography

Project Objective: The student will create and implement a project related to the research topic that will share the information with a greater audience and/or perform a community service activity, Share your research with people outside the Short Pump community Document what you have done with a summary, artifacts and photos Write your opinion about your project

Learn from an expert Objective: The student will connect with a person involved with the topic in order to give more insight into the topic. Communicate with an expert Ask questions that would not be found in a non-fiction source Ask opinions or personal story Summarize

Presentation Objective: The student will present the results of the research to teach others about the topic and gain experience creating a display and communicating with others. Display board with the following: Title with the essential question Highlights of your research with bullet points or short statements Images and graphics related to your research Short summary of information from the expert Images and summary of the project Artifact of your research: object or iMovie or keynote
