Welcome to Anatomy & Physiology

Thank you so much for taking an active interest in your child’s learning. I apologize for missing the opportunity to meet with you, however, I teach an evening class at the local community college on Tuesday and Thursday. Murphy’s Law made it a given that open house and class would conflict this year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for a conference should you feel the need to meet in person. Well Mr. Osborne, it may not be kidney stones after all.

Grading Grades are calculated on a point system: Daily work worth = 10 – 30 pts. Minor lab work worth = 25 – 75 pts. Exams and projects worth = 100 pts.

Grading… At the end of the six weeks all points earned are totaled and divided by totaled possible points. Major grades count 60% of the average, minor grades count 40%. Ex: Major: 875 Earned Points 1000 Possible Points = 87.5 x 60% = 52.5 Minor: 250 Earned Points 300 Possible Points = 83.3 x 40% =

Grade Improvement Opportunities Minor work and 6 weeks projects – All daily work not turned in on the due date will receive a 50% deduction if turned in one day late. Exams – Students may do test corrections on any test (not just those they may have failed). Test corrections dates will be announced after the test score is returned. Students may choose to come in 2 mornings or one afternoon for one hour (student choice). Students may earn back ½ credit for each question they correct.
