Streamer Submission Submission Deadline for the CY2012 Streamer Awards is February 1, 2013 It is ultimately the responsibility of Post Leaders to make sure that Posts submit on time Extensions must be requested at least one week before the submission due date. Streamer Submission Submissions received without an accompanying Streamer Submission Form will not be reviewed. Always name your streamer in the following format: PostName_StreamerName2012 (e.g. BaltimorePost_EducationTraining2012) Suggest that RVP’s check SAME website for spreadsheet confirming submission and receipt of Post streamer packages HQ sends acknowledgment upon receiving Streamer package (You will not necessarily receive confirmation the same day of submittal – but you will receive confirmation) 1/17/2012SAME Streamer Awards Program CY2012 3

2012 Education and Training Streamer (CONUS and OCONUS) 1.Metrics have changed  Small Posts- 2 required  Medium Posts- 2 required and 1 of 2 desired elements  Large Posts – 2 required and 2 of 2 desired elements  Streamer with Distinction – all required and desired elements 2. Required by all Posts  Assist Members in obtaining and maintaining professional licensure or certifications utilizing Post Education and Mentoring Funds, Post Scholarship Funds or Post Operating Funds  Provide education forums that award a minimum of 4 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) in support of members who require continuing education credits for their professional registrations or certifications, consistent with SAME Guide to Continuing Professional Competency, /17/2012SAME Streamer Awards Program CY2012 6

2012 Education and Training Streamer (CONUS and OCONUS) 1.Removed 2 Desired Elements: Future program, project, and contract opportunities for Department of Defense and non DOD Programs in the Federal, local area or region 2.New Desired Elements:  Plan and execute a Small Business conference or workshop geared towards helping small businesses successfully participate in DOD programs.  One or more Post members submit an article for publication in TME or other professional magazine or journal. 1/17/2012SAME Streamer Awards Program CY2012 7

Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security Streamer Required by all Posts:  Conduct outreach to a minimum of three Federal, State, Local agencies or NGOs to provide them copies of the SAME Directory of Member Companies and Organizations or equivalent document developed by a Post, and the TISP Regional Disaster Resilience Guide (2011 Edition) and explain their value.  Three committee members have completed IS-100.a (ICS) level training in the past three years. 1/17/2012SAME Streamer Awards Program CY

Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security Streamer New Desired Elements:  Hold a Post Emergency Preparedness Exercise to test the ability of Posts to call up Sustaining Member firms to respond to requests for assistance using the emergency numbers and capabilities contained in the SAME Directory of Member Companies and Organizations or equivalent document developed by the Post  Conduct or participate in an Emergency Preparedness or Homeland Security Workshop as a Post or jointly with other SAME Posts  Three Post members have completed eight hours of training in current calendar year, including but not limited to IS-200.a (ICS) or IS-700.a (ICS 700)  Post member makes a presentation on Readiness and Homeland Security issues or best practices to a SAME, TISP or other organization’s conference  Send a Post Emergency Preparedness Committee member to the TISP Annual Conference 1/17/2012SAME Streamer Awards Program CY
