EXTENSION OF THE CLASSROOM  It has been shown that students who participate in a school sponsored sports team have a higher overall grade point average.  The kids are held accountable for their academic performance by the schools’ academic assistance policy.

BUILDS A CULTURE OF FAMILY  Football is the ultimate team sport: eleven players depend on each other to play as one force.  Everyone is working toward a common goal.  There are leaders and there are role players, but all are important.  The bond is built for a lifetime.

 Perseverance  When I make a mistake and get knocked down, I am going to learn from it and keep bouncing back.  Confidence is built in taking risks.  Putting fist things first is part of responsibility and time management.  Hard work and practice pay off.

BUILDS PRIDE AND RESPECT FOR THE MIDLAKES SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE COMMUNITY

 School enrollment has dropped significantly over the past few years.  Due to the drop in enrollment, we are going to need to shift the demographics from JV 9 th and 10 th grade to Modified A 7 th,8 th & 9 th grade.  Other schools in our area that have or will be Modified A:  Pal-Mac  Red Jacket  Marcus Whitman  Mynders  Dundee  South Seneca  Others

 The ball starts on the 35-yard line (no kick offs).  Punts are live.  There is a maximum of 1-yard splits between line-men, tackle-to- tackle.

 Defenses must employ a 4, 5, or 6 man front in a head up position  No blitzing allowed; line backers are at 3 yards deep.  Press and contact is allowed with any eligible receiver, within 5 yards of the offensive tackle only.

 Starts the last week in August  Games and practices will be during the week  6- or 7-game Finger Lakes League Schedule  The school provides the equipment and insurance, so there is no out of pocket cost.  Coaches will be Steve Howcroft and Doug Allard

 Starting March 15 th 2 Sundays a month until June we will hold positional 10:00am  HSPD camp at Lyons on June 6th & 7th  Summer workouts-Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday 7:00-8:30AM (more times may be added if personnel is available to run the workouts)
