PUTTING EVENTS IN ORDER On April 24, 1912 the crew of the Olympic go on strike, refusing to work on a ship without enough lifeboats. On April 11, 1912 a passenger who traveled only from London to Belfast, Ireland took the last known photograph of the Titanic as he left the boat in Belfast. It would sink three days later. On September 20, 1911 the Olympic crashed into a British navy ship. Its repairs delayed the work on the Titanic by 1 month. Fourteen years before the Titanic sank, in 1898, “The Wreck of the Titan” described a ghastly fictional disaster where a ship sank in almost the exact same way as the Titanic. In 1907, J. Bruce Ismay and Lord Pirrie discussed plans to build three giant ships that would be the last word in ocean luxury. In May 1911, the hull of the Titanic was launched in front of 100,000 people. Ten months after the hull was launched, the Titanic was completed. In June 1911, the Olympic, sister ship to the Titanic, began her maiden voyage. On April 10, 1912, passengers boarded the Titanic for her maiden voyage
