General info Initially the membership was restricted to students of Harvard College. Subsequently expanded to other USA university. People with a university address from institutions across the globe were eligible to join. Since September 11, 2006, it has been made available to any address user who inputs a certain age range. As of July 2007, the website had the largest number of registered users among college-focused sites with over 34 million active members worldwide.

Why to use facebook? Connect people with friends and others who works, study and live around them. Keep up with friends. Upload photos without limits. Sharing. Learn more about the people they meet.

Why facebook is innovative? Because it aims to a specific target: student and people that works together in real world.
