High Jump Rules -jumpers will run toward a bar that will be placed atop two standards -once close to the bar, athletes will jump up on one leg while the force of the leg they are not presently jumping on forces them to turn backwards -jumpers then arch their back to successfully jump over the bar and land on a mat behind the bar -if jumpers miss or knock the bar from its position off of the standards three times in a row, that athlete is eliminated from the competition -the height of the bar is continually raised until a winner is declared (the winner will be the one who can jump the highest measurment)

High Jump Part Two -Stefka Kostadinova is the current record holder of the women’s high jump with a jump of 2.09 metres. She also obtains a record of jumping 2.00 metres an amazing 197 times -Javier Sotomayor is the current men’s high jump record holder of an incredible 2.44 metres
